Kawsar is a 43-year-old Lebanese married woman. She lives with her three children; one of them is studying and the others are working. Unlike other women in her age, Kawsar helps her husband, who has been working outside the country for the past three years, to satisfy her family demands. She’s a good farmer and a hard worker. She has been working in this domain for the past twelve years.
Today, she’s requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase seeds and chemicals in order to grow her farm. In the future, she plans to buy new land and diversify her harvest.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
