Amale is a 49-year-old Lebanese woman. She’s married and living with her husband. They’re cooperating together to be able to satisfy their needs. Her husband has had his own car spare parts shop since the year 2000. As for Amale, she works really hard and opened her own grocery shop in 2008. She has a wide variety of goods and products, also a fair number of loyal customers.
Today, she’s asking for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase added products for her shop such as soft drinks, dairy products and many other items. She notes that this loan will increase her sales and therefore her profits thus her revenue. In the future, she plans to open her own mini-market.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
