Luzmila is a very hard-working person who has always been noted for wanting to provide her children with a better quality of life and better opportunities for making progress. Luzmila es una persona muy trabajadora que siempre se ha caracterizado por querer brindarles a sus hijos una mejor calidad de vida y mejores oportunidades de progreso. Luzmila se encuentra casada y es madre de 4 hijos, además, tuvo una hija que murió cuando ya tenía un hijo, lo que hizo que Luzmila se convirtiera en abuela y ahora también le garantiza a su nieto su sustento. Luzmila vende junto con su esposo comidas como arepas de chócolo, empanadas, pasteles, gelatina, entre otros, y gracias a esto genera los ingresos necesarios para el sostenimiento de su hogar. Luzmila vende sus productos todos los días a domicilio en su barrio o en barrios cercanos a su vivienda, además, los fines de semana se ubican a las afueras de una cárcel y les vende la comida a las personas que hacen la fila para el ingreso. Luzmila en la actualidad tiene muy buenas ventas y gracias a esto ha podido garantizar el estudio universitario de 2 de sus hijos. Con el ánimo de seguir ejerciendo su actividad, Luzmila busca que un préstamo le brinde la posibilidad de acceder a la compra de insumos y materiales para sus comidas como son recipientes, ollas, canastillas, e implementos de cocina que requiere renovar.

Luzmila espera seguir ejerciendo su actividad y que su negocio de comidas siga creciendo hasta el punto de lograr ubicarse en un local donde pueda atender a los clientes que la visitan. This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
