Habiba is a married woman with six children, all of whom graduated from school. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
Habiba operates a car wash business from home where motor vehicle operators are her potential customers. In addition she also operates a meat-goat selling business from which she earns her other source of income. She faces a major challenge of water shortage for her car wash business.
With the Kshs 50,000 she wants to purchase more goats for resale and a water tank for water storage for the car wash business. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
