Marta is 36 years old. She lives in a residential area very close to the sea with her husband and her three children who range from 16 years. She sells cheese, cold meats and also products through specialized catalogs, such as perfumes and cosmetics, on credit. Her sales are made with select customers, for whom she looks for the best prices, for the sake of keeping them faithful.

Her business idea began 3 years ago, 15 years after having arrived from Sincé in the department of Sucre to work providing services in various offices in the city of Barranquilla. With a loan that she made through her mother, in order to work independently, she began to sell cheese and cold meats through the distribution system among her friends, relatives and neighbors, and so it was that her income began to increase and she was able to add other products that her customers needed.

Marta has her own house. She is very hard working working, and occasionally she does various jobs for businesses at an hourly wage. Her husband services motorcycles from home and both manage the household.

Currently she is asking for her first Kiva loan, and also her first financing through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, with which she will buy packages of meat, cheese by the kilo, and products through catalogs that come with special discounts so she can fulfill the requests of her customers. In her business Marta manages a circulating accounts receivable of 4 days, profitability on sales of not less than 36.7%, which are financial indicators for the projected growth of her business.
