The “El Porvenir de Junín” (Junín’s Future) communal bank meets every two weeks in Junín Canton which is known for its kind and hardworking residents and because the best “aguardiente” [a distilled spirit] of the province and of Ecuador is distilled here.

The group has 11 women and 2 men who decided to join together to form this communal bank which will help them very much to improve their small businesses. They carry out a variety of activities such as commerce, service and food sales, among others.

One of the members of this group is Nelly, 29. She’s in a common law relationship and has three children who are 10, 8 and 6 years old; all three attend school. Her husband is a merchant.

She is a great housewife who is also a merchant; she sells all types of clothes. On the weekend she sets up a small stand downtown taking advantage of market days which is when she sells the most. On non-market days she sells door to door. She goes to Guayaquil to buy merchandise each time she needs it. She’s had her business 8 years and has always done very well.

She will use this loan to buy clothes especially seasonal items like: bathing suits, Bermuda shorts and t-shirts. Her goal is to continue forward with her business and in the communal bank where she’s very happy.

EL Banco Comunal El Porvenir De Junín se reúne cada quince días en el cantón Junín, este lugar se lo conoce por su gente amable y trabajadora y porque en este lugar se destila el mejor aguardiente en la provincia y en el Ecuador.

Este es un grupo de 11 socias y 2 socios que decidieron unirse y formar este Banco Comunal que les va a servir de mucho para mejorar sus pequeños negocios. Se dedican a diversas actividades tales como comercio, servicios, venta de comidas entre otras actividades.

Una de las socias de este grupo es señora Nelly, tiene 29 años de edad y mantiene una relación de unión libre de la cual tiene tres hijos de 10, 8 y 6 años, los tres estudian en escuela. El marido es comerciante.

Ella es una gran ama de casa que se dedica al comercio, vende ropa del todo tipo. Los fines de semana instala un pequeño local en el centro de la ciudad aprovechando los días de feria que es cuando más vende, además en los días que no son de feria vende la ropa puerta a puerta, su mercadería la va a comprar a Guayaquil cada vez que necesita. Tiene más de 8 años con su negocio y siempre le ha ido muy bien.

Este crédito lo va a emplear para comprar ropa sobretodo la ropa de temporada como: trajes de baño, bermudas y camisetas.

Sus metas son seguir adelante en su negocio y en el Banco Comunal en el cual está muy contenta.
