Abdallah is a 36-year-old Lebanese married man. He lives with his wife and one school-aged child. He’s trying his best to fulfill his family's needs. He has been working as a taxi driver for two years and has gained a fair number of loyal customers so far. He works independently, on a freelance basis. Today, he’s asking to borrow $1300 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to pay his child's school fees. This will help him to attend university.
In the future, Abdallah plans to buy a minivan in order to target additional customers and earn a superior income.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
