Ibtisam is a 52-year-old Lebanese single woman living with her parents. Her father is the one responsible for covering the family expenses in addition to her.
Despite her young age and unlike other people, Ibtisam has the ambition to have her own business. She opened her own international call center and internet shop in year 2000.
Today, she’s asking for a loan of $2200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a new phone and internet machine. This will boost her business thus her profits. In the future, she plans to take out more Kiva loans in order to improve her business further.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
