Amira is a 32-year-old Lebanese woman. She married, living with her husband. They both cooperates together to be able to live properly as it should be. She started to work as a tailor from her home since 2005 and has her second job working as a nurse in a local company. As for her husband, he has been working as a farmer since 1991.
Today, she’s asking for a loan of $1,300 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to renew her supplies and buy a new tailoring machine. She notes that this will help her improve her performance and therefore increase her sales. In the future, she plans to work on new designs and open her own clothing store.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
