Khalima N. is 27 years old, married and has three children, the youngest of which was born last year. Khalima makes a living baking “lepeshka," the national bread of Tajikistan, which she sells from a stall in a nearby market. She went into this line of work because it's profitable and not the subject to seasonal fluctuations in demand. She buys the ingredients needed to make this bread in her town's local market. When she is not baking, Khalima makes dresses, which bring addition income to her young family. She is requesting a $900 loan to buy ingredients and coal for baking. Khalima has borrowed from us in the past, and has proved to be an honest client. She promises to repay this new loan promptly.
