Caroline is 42 years old, married, and has two children one of whom attends school while the other has completed school. Caroline has operated a clothes selling business for seven years. Her clients are the local area residents.
Her husband is employed and also contributes to the family's basic needs. She lives in a rental house with electricity but no piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food for her family and school fees for her children.
Caroline is requesting a loan for 80,000 KES, which she will use to purchase more bundles of clothes for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access funds to expand her business. Caroline faces a major challenge of transportation. She dreams of establishing a boutique in the future.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
