Wendy is requesting a loan through Fundación Campo to buy wood, tile, cement and to pay for labor to finish construction on her adobe house. The one in which they are living now is made of sheets of metal and is damaged. Her husband has helped her to start the construction, but can no longer send her money from the United States. Because of this she decided to request a loan. Her new house will be more comfortable since there are 10 people living with her parents, her and her four siblings, her daughter, and her nieces and nephews. They will all live better, more comfortably and more secure.
Wendy wants to have decent housing, to see her daughter grow, and install a floor and electricity in the house as they don't have either.

About Housing Loans
Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
