Ivan ha sido una persona que ha pasado por muchas adversidades en su vida, sin embargo, su lucha constante y su capacidad de superación, han hecho que salga adelante. Ivan es un padre soltero que tiene a su cargo su hijo de 17 años, pues la madre los abandonó hace un tiempo. Es por esto que Ivan trabaja fuertemente todos los días con el ánimo de generar los ingresos necesarios para su hogar, donde convive con su madre y su hijo.
Ivan se dedica al trabajo de la confección a terceros, actividad que ejerce desde hace aproximadamente 13 años. Gracias a esto, Ivan obtiene los ingresos suficientes para brindarles a su madre y a su hijo todo lo que necesitan.
Ivan actualmente ha tenido muy buenos pedidos de sus clientes, sin embargo, algunos los ha tenido que rechazar debido a que no cuenta con las máquinas suficientes para hacer dichos trabajos. Ivan sueña con que su negocio le pueda brindar mejores ingresos, de modo que le permita tener una mejor calidad de vida a su madre y su hijo.
Además, Ivan sueña con que su hijo pueda acceder a una educación universitaria de calidad, y poder así estar preparado para que en un futuro obtenga un empleo bien remunerado.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders.
