Khalil is a 63-year-old Lebanese widower. He’s living on his own and doing his best to live the rest of his life properly as it should be. He opened his own nuts roastery shop in 2003, after having 40 years of experience in this domain. He’s well known for his delicious roasters.
Today, he wants to borrow $2,000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase roasters and related products in order to carry on his work in a proper way and therefore increase his sales. In the future, he plans to enlarge his roastery and hire someone to work on his behalf.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
