Abbas is a 32-year-old Lebanese man living with his wife. Like every couple, they’re looking to have children. Abbas is working under pressure to be able to offer them a good future. He has owned a car spare parts shop since 1997 in his town. Since he is known for his good work, people visit him from all neighboring areas. Today, Abbas has the intention of borrowing $1,300 from Kiva's partner, Ameen s.a.l,, to purchase more spare car parts for his business. He notes that this will increase his sales, thus his revenues. In the future, he plans to sell cars and have his own car showroom.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
