Entrepreneur is the best word to describe Felipe, a young man from the city of Medellín, who has been working for quite some time now in order to generate his own income and be able to improve his parents’ quality of life. Felipe had to leave the town of his birth due to economic problems and moved to Medellín to overcome this adversity. Since then, Felipe has been selling food in some of the city’s sectors and thanks to this generates income necessary to cover household expenses.

Felipe’s sales are currently good and his customers know him because of his tasty food preparation so Felipe wants to continue increasing sales to continue to help his parents with household expenses. Hoping to diversify his products, Felipe wants to add to the products he sells the sale of “arepas de chócolo” [corn griddle cake stuffed with sweet corn and farmer's white cheese] because he thinks that they would sell very well in the morning. To do so, he has to buy a grill to warm them up. However, Felipe does not have enough money to buy it and is hoping for a loan that will make it possible for him to purchase a grill to warm up arepas de chócolo to continue increasing his income.

Emprendedor es la mejor palabra con la que se puede describir a Felipe, un joven de la ciudad de Medellín que desde hace bastante tiempo viene trabajando con el fin de generar sus propios ingresos y poder mejorarles la calidad de vida a sus padres.
Felipe tuvo que abandonar su municipio natal debido a problemas económicos, por lo que tuvo que emigrar hacia Medellín y así poder superar esta adversidad.
Desde entonces Felipe se dedica a la venta de alimentos en algunos sectores de la ciudad, y gracias a esto genera los ingresos necesarios para el sostenimiento de los gastos de su hogar.
Felipe actualmente tiene unas buenas ventas, y sus clientes lo tienen como un referente por el buen sabor de sus productos, por lo que Felipe quiere seguir aumentando sus ventas y poder seguir ayudando a sus padres con los gastos de su hogar.
Con el ánimo de diversificar sus productos, Felipe quiere incluir a los productos que vende, la venta de arepas de chócolo, pues considera que en las horas de la mañana esto se vendería muy bien, y para esto necesita la compra de una parrilla para poderlas calentar. Sin embargo, Felipe no cuenta con el dinero suficiente para poder comprarla, por lo que aspira a que un crédito le brinde la posibilidad de acceder a la compra de una parrilla para calentar las arepas de chócolo y poder seguir aumentando sus ingresos.
Felipe espera que con el aumento de sus ingresos sus padres puedan obtener una mejor calidad de vida, y puedan descansar de lo tanto que han trabajado.
Felipe tiene el gran sueño de poder tener una cadena de comidas rápidas en la ciudad, por esto todos los días trabaja con mas esfuerzo y dedicación por sus sueños.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
