Luz Dary
Love for her family is the best way to identify Luz Dary, who has worked her whole life with the goal of improving the quality of life of her husband and her two children. Luz Dary always has had the dream of being able to give her two children a university education that will allow them to get a well-paying job. Nevertheless, she has confronted various adversities in her life in which she had to resort to seeing her dreams postponed.

Luz Dary, with the goal of being able to generate higher income, has set up a fast-food stand that her customers mention as being of very good quality. Since the fast-food business has gone so well for her, Luz Dary wants her fast-food stand to offer a greater variety of products than what she currently offers, so she wants to buy a double deep fryer that will allow her to make more fast food at the same time.

However, Luz Dary does not have the necessary capital for this. She hopes a loan will give her the opportunity to succeed in buying a double deep fryer and the necessary supplies to make her food the first days.

Luz Dary hopes that in this way her income will go up considerably and she can realize her dream of giving her children a university education and improve their quality of life.

Important Information

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
