Muthimbe, 70 years old, is married and has 10 children. She has operated a retail shop for 17 years and describes her business environment as good because there is limited competition. Muthimbe earns extra income from her farming activities. Since she joined Faulu Kenya, she has been able to grow her business and she hopes to expand it in the future. Muthimbe has applied for a loan of KES 40,000 to buy maize flour, sugar and rice.
