Asunta is a new client of EMPRENDER. She is the mother of one of EMPRENDER's most longstanding clients. Asunta lives in the city of El Alto. She has a business selling coca leaves. Coca (Erythroxylum Coca) has been used as a medicinal plant for centuries, especially in the Andean culture. Asunta brings the coca leaves by the quintal (46 kilograms). She brings them through the Yungas, (subtropical valleys located in the foothills of the Andes), 2 days a week and sells them in the coca market. The loan she is requesting is to purchase coca at wholesale from a person who has a license to sell coca. Asunta is a very hardworking person who exerts herself a lot, since the trip from the Yungas is long and the road is very treacherous as it is known to have many fatal accidents. But she stays strong so that she can get ahead.
