Rihab is a 53-year-old Lebanese single woman living with her parents and one working sibling. She collaborates with her father to be able to satisfy their family's needs and demands. She opened her own grocery store in her town in 2009 and has gained a fair number of customers so far. Today she’s requesting to borrow $1,100 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase more groceries and food provisions for her shop in order to increase her sales and thus her revenues. In the future, she plans to open her own mini-market.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
