Ilham is a 58-year-old Lebanese married woman living with her husband. She has owned a clothing shop since 2008, and now she’s trying her best to earn more income and be able to live as it should be, especially after being the one responsible for the family with her unemployed husband.
Today, she’s requesting to borrow $1300 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a new collection of clothes with new designs, accessories and others. She notes that this Kiva loan will increase her sales and help her attract new customers. In the future, she plans to open other branches in different areas.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
