Rose is 52 years old, married, and has six children. She runs a retail shop to earn a living. She has been in the business for three years. She describes her business environment as favorable because there is limited competition. Since she joined Faulu Kenya she has been able to educate her children. She hopes to expand her business to a wholesale in the future. She has applied for 50,000 KES to buy a bundle of maize flour and a sack of sugar.
