Josephine, 42, is married with three children and lives in Dimalco, Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental, Philippines. She owns and operates a business venture raising crops to earn a living. Josephine has been in this business for 13 years and each month she earns 5,000 Philippine Pesos (PHP) from these activities. She has requested a loan of 15,000 PHP to purchase additional seeds, seedlings and young crops to raise.
In 2011, Josephine joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her business and living situation. In the future, Josephine wants to make improvements on her house and to ensure her children finish their studies.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
