It is a group of 16 modest and hardworking women. Currently they are in the tenth loan cycle and they are infinitely grateful for the support, the constant monitoring, the training, and for trusting in them to help them improve their quality of life and that of their families.

One of the members is María, who works selling all types of clothing. She is a very hardworking woman and a fighter. Through her hard work she is able to pay her family's daily expenses and at the same time support her business. Her goal is to grow and continue helping her family.

She is requesting the loan to buy summer clothes so she can fulfill her customers' demands. She is grateful to the foundation and to Kiva for the opportunity they are giving her.

About Fundación Paraguaya

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
