Soltan is a 24-year-old single Lebanese man. He lives with his parents and two siblings, one of whom is working and the other is still attending school. His father is the one responsible for the family, striving to offer them a respectable life. Soltan has owned a restaurant since 2010, and he’s known for his delicious food and good place. Today, he wants to borrow $500 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase the needed quantity of food and provisions for his restaurant. In that way, he will be able to carry out his job properly. In the future, he plans to take more Kiva loans and expand his job.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
