Amira is a 34-year-old married Lebanese woman. She lives with her husband. They’re both cooperating together in order to meet their family's expenses. She has owned a clothing shop since 2003 and has gained a fair number of customers so far. She also works in a local clothing shop. Today, she’s requesting to borrow 3,000 USD from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase additional clothes such as dresses, scarves, pants and many other items. She notes that this loan will certainly help her to get greater returns. In the future, she plans to open other branches of her shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
