Leap is a farmer who grows rice, taro, ginger and beans as her main source of income. She has been farming for ten years.

Leap has been with VisionFund since 2010, and she successfully paid back her previous loan with them. She and her two group members who joined VisionFund in the last two years are applying for a loan of 3,000,000 KHR with VFC.

As the leader of the group, Leap will use this loan to buy fertilizer and taro seedlings for her farmland. She hopes to increase her yields and so improve her lifestyle.

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
