Originally from a village located in the Sa Ang district, Mao is 43 years old and has three children. She has been growing vegetables and sugarcane with her husband as the family's main source of income to support their living.
Mao has been with VisionFund for five years. The previous loans have helped her to make a better living. She completely paid back her last loan with VisionFund, and she is now requesting another loan. She will use this loan to buy fertilizer for her vegetable plantation and also to make pickled vegetables to sell. She hopes this loan will enable her to grow her vegetables successfully, and she also hopes to increase her business.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
