Mrs. Chhang is 47 years old and the mother of three children who lives in the Baray district. She has earned a living by growing rice for many years, and supplements her income by working in a local primary school where she sells biscuits, sweets, snacks and drinks to school children. She is a hard-working mother who is committed to improve her family's life. She is applying for a loan to buy 10 piglets to raise and sell. Her goal is to raise her family out of poverty.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
