Adriana Isabel is an enterprising young woman that has always wanted to help her parents. For this reason she has looked for a way to generate her own income and help with their financial responsibilities. At 21 years old, Adriana works selling merchandise such as shoes, blouses, accessories and other products to her family, friends and people in her neighborhood. Her income is not a lot right now as she isn't selling a lot right now because she doesn't have enough stock. Her supplier wouldn't open a line of credit for her because she is so new to the business. For this reason Adriana is seeking for a loan that will allow her to stock her store and fill pending orders for her customers. This will allow her to increase her income and improve her quality of life as well as that of her parents. Adriana dreams of having a big business, lots of customers, and being able to give her parents the chance to rest and to live better than they do now.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
