The community association "FLOR KANTUTITA" began its seventh cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the focal center Germán Busch. It is made up of eleven members and it is guided by a board of directors headed by Martha. The members of the community association go forward with various businesses, among them we have: food sales, cosmetics sales, kebab sales, blanket weaving, sewing aprons, making tulmas, driver, and caretaker.

Martha says that she has been working with Pro Mujer for more than five years, and she joined the institution at the invitation of her sister. Currently she has a grocery business that she's been working at for years.

The loan that she will take out now is to increase her capital (for buying groceries) which she will buy in the commercial sector of the city ("La Ceja") and later sell at the community marketplaces. This type of work allows her to generate the resources to support her family, as she is single with four children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes health, personal attention, and the service.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
