Sleiman is a 27-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two children. Because of the high living expenses, Sleiman was obliged to work hard in order to cover their needs. He has twelve years of experience in the agriculture field, until he decided to have his own land in 2004 where he cultivates all kinds of fruits and vegetables. Today, he needs to borrow $2,300 from Kiva partner Ameen S.A.L. to purchase new agricultural supplies in addition to fertilizers and seeds. This will certainly boost his productivity and thus his revenues. In the future, he plans to open his own fruit and vegetable shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
