Ali is a 23-year-old Lebanese single man. He lives with his parents and one working sibling. In addition to Ali, all the family members are working together to be able to enhance their way of living. Ali started his own business as a taxi driver in 2010, and is looking forward to gaining more clients. He’s good and friendly and that makes people loyal to him.
Today, he’s requesting to borrow $1300 from Kiva partner Ameen S.a.l to perform the needed maintenance on his car. He’s sure that this will improve his business and therefore increase his revenues. In the future, he plans to buy a van to be able to serve a wider range of people.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
