The Communal Bank Women Who Fight to Get Ahead meets every two weeks in the Picoaza parish in the city of Portoviejo. It is a well known area for being commerce friendly, the traditional festivities of Saint Peter and Saint Paul and for the vivacity of its people.

Mrs. Karen lives in that place, she is 21 years old and has a common law marriage and has two children of 6 and 2 years of age, the oldest is attending school. Her husband is a salesman.

Mrs. Karen is a young mother and housewife and to have her own resources she sells clothing by catalogue and Avon products (beauty products, makeup, perfumes and accessories for women). She works everyday in the mornings and door to door, Mrs. Karen leaves her products on credit and collects every week. Mrs. Karen receives her products in her home and the clothing she picks up at a distributer in Picoaza. She has worked for three years in this field and does very well, what she sells most are perfumes and women’s clothing.

This loan will be used to buy perfumes, creams, makeup and all types of clothing. This is Mrs. Karen’s sixth loan with her Communal Bank and is happy with it since thanks to the loans she is able to get ahead.

Her dream is to provide her children with the best.

El Banco Comunal Mujeres De Lucha se reúne cada quince días en la parroquia Picoaza de la ciudad de Portoviejo. Lugar conocido por ser una zona muy comercial, por sus fiestas tradicionales de San Pedro y San Pablo y por la alegría de su gente.

En este lugar vive la señora Karen, tiene 21 años de edad y mantiene una relación de unión libre de la cual tiene dos hijos de 6 y 2 años, el mayor estudia en escuela. El marido es comerciante.

Ella es una joven madre y ama de casa que para obtener sus propios recursos se dedica a la venta de ropa por catalogo y de productos Avon (productos de belleza, cosméticos, perfumería y accesorios para damas). Trabaja todos los días en las mañanas, su forma de venta es puerta a puerta, deja sus productos a crédito y cobra cada semana. Sus productos los recibe en su casa y lo que es ropa en Picoaza en una distribuidora. Tiene tres años que se dedica a esta actividad y le va muy bien, lo que más vende son los perfumes y ropa de damas.

Este crédito es para comprar perfumes, cremas, cosméticos y ropa de todo tipo. Este es el sexto ciclo en el Banco Comunal y le gusta porque gracias a los créditos ella puede salir adelante.

Su sueño es darles lo mejor a sus hijos.
