Gustavo at 37 years old is hard working and and struggles until exhaustion, with the aim of providing more for his wife and two little children who are only 4 and 2 years of age. He began with the business of agriculture and livestock in an area of San Agustín.
His work consists of fattening livestock, such as calves, and in the production and making of dairy products. He also dedicates part of his time to working in agriculture to generate additional income for maintaining his home.
His dream is to have more livestock which would allow him to have a steady income over time, and also provide a quality education to his two little children, as he is aware of the importance that this has for their future.

El sueña con tener una mayor cantidad de ganado que le permita generar ingresos más estables en el tiempo, al igual que brindarle educación de calidad a sus dos pequeños hijos, ya que es conciente de la importancia que esta tiene para su futuro.
This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
