Pov
Mrs. Pov S. (pictured with her mother), 34, and her husband, Mr. Meng Leang, have been married for over ten years. They have two children; one son and one daughter, both who are studying in primary school. The family lives along the Tonle Basac River, a tributary of the nearby Mekong, about fifteen kilometers from Phnom Penh.

Mrs. S. has been in the business of selling flowers and bananas since she was young. She takes jasmine flowers from her farm and some she purchases from a farmer in her village to sell atthe Chba Ampov Market in Phnom Penh. Her husband raises pigs and cows. He would like to set up a new business cleaning in the village. The couple hopes that both businesses will be able to support her children through school.

Mrs. S. is requesting her first loan in the amount of $1000. She will use this money to set up a motorbike cleaning shop for her husband.
