Mrs. Mach P. and her husband, Kheav Boran, have been married since 1983. They have four children; two sons and two daughters. Her eldest son is married and lives outside the family home. One of her daughters has full time employment and the other stays at home. The youngest son is in school. Her family lives in a Phnom Penh suburb.


Mrs. P. has been in the business of renting houses to local workers and selling jackfruit since 1999. She purchases the fruit from the Neak Meas Market (fruit market) to sell at her shop in Phnom Penh. Her husband is a motor taxi driver. She is requesting her first loan in the amount of $500. She will use this money to purchase a motorbike for her sons to become motor taxi drivers.
