Luis Alberto
Luis is 33 years old and lives in the municipality of Puerto Colombia, by the sea shore, with his wife and 6 year old child. He has a deli store with which he generates the household income and which is located to the north of the city of Barranquilla. The times during which there is a greater volume of sales is approaching and these are the Christmas season and the New Year as families get together to celebrate them and share delicious food which is prepared with products such as those sold by Luis Alberto: sauces, cold cuts of meat, cheese, bread, disposable products, vegetables and so on. Likewise his sales increase because the hot dog vendors have outlets they like to have well stocked as they also do very well with their sales.

Currently, he is applying for his first Kiva loan with which he will buy sauces, pickles, tinned goods, cold cuts, bread, puddings, etc. in order to respond to potential customer demand at this time and so achieve a growth in his working capital investment as his future goal is to open another shop at the university in the city of Barranquilla, where he is already studying his market and also buying a vehicle to make home order deliveries which are growing every day. His biggest challenge is the competition but Luis Alberto has learned to face this challenge with good prices and excellent service. This is why as long as he continues to buy in bulk, the positive effects will be felt quickly and this will be to thanks to the success of his Kiva loan.
