Mrs. Yin, 47, is a rice farmer who has been living in Prey Chor district. She has nine children, most of whom are single and living together with her in a house. She has just finished collecting her rice fruit recently, and she found that it won’t be enough for the whole year. It’s really a good time now if she can buy rice from other villagers to store in her barn. So now she is taking out a loan from HKL and Kiva to buy a stock of rice to keep for daily food. This is her first loan that will secure her family out of hunger. She is very pleased and thankful to our lenders for their help.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
