Saumu is a 55-year-old charcoal dealer in Bamburi, Mombasa. She also owns a motorcycle, which operates as a boda boda, to supplement her income.
Saumu is a widow and has been operating her business for the past four years. She is doing great. This is her third loan to finance her business since she was introduced to Kiva partner KADET. She plans to buy more sacks of charcoal for sale and repair her motorcycles. She will use the anticipated profit to expand her business and she hopes to buy a car.
