Villa Primaveral Group's story

The “Villa Primaveral” Communal Bank is a long-time group within the Fundación. Its members are in their tenth loan cycle in the program. The objective of each one of them is to work as a team, promote a feeling of solidarity and maintain group unity. Through the training provided by the program, many of the women succeed in starting and expanding their businesses and they value the importance of being in the bank: they meet new people, create friendships and have a source of dignified work which enables them to improve the educational opportunities of their children.

Margarita is one of these women. She notes that she starts working in the very early hours of the morning. She sells food and says that it is going very well since she is a very good cook and she already has a good clientele who request her dishes. Consequently she makes a good income.

She is requesting the help of the Fundación and Kiva so that she can buy meat, condiments, vegetables and other products in order to make the meals that she sells. She is grateful for this new opportunity to progress that is being given to her.
