Fifonsi Gbenandou is a group of six people, whose members live in the same neighborhood. The representative of the group, Fidèle (whose hand is raised on the photo), is 27 years old and is married to a certain Sylvain. The couple has three dependent children, of whom some go to school. Fidèle lives together with her husband and children. The couple takes care of the different household responsibilities together. Fidèle stopped school at the primary level.

Fidèle has been selling fruit for one year. At the same time, Fidèle sells sweet potatoes and yams. Fidèle buys her products in a market of Bénin and in a region of Bénin. In order to strengthen their working capital and their business and to better respond to the demands of their clientèle, Fidèle and the other members of the Fifonsi Gbenandou group are requesting a loan from ALIDé.

FIFONSI GBENANDOU est un groupe de six personnes, dont les membres habitent dans le même quartier. La représentante du groupe Fidèle (dont la main est levée sur la photo), est âgée de 27 ans et est mariée à un certain Sylvain. Le couple a trois enfants, dont certains scolarisés et tous à leur charge. Fidèle vit ensemble avec son mari et ses enfants. Le couple assure ensemble les différentes charges de la maison. Fidèle a arrêté l’école au niveau primaire. Depuis un an, Fidèle vend des fruits .Parallèlement à cette activité, Fidèle vend des patates douces et des ignames. Fidèle achète ses produits dans un marché du Bénin et dans une région du Bénin. En vue de renforcer leur fonds de roulement et leur activité et de mieux répondre aux exigences de leur clientèle, Fidèle et les autres membres du groupe FIFONSI GBENANDOU sollicitent un crédit auprès de ALIDé.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
