Zeinab is a 30-year-old Lebanese woman. She’s single, living with her only parent and three working siblings. Her brother contributes to all of the family expenses. As for her, she started to work as a hairdresser from her home in 2010. She knows chic and stylish haircuts which help attract more customers. Today, she’s looking for a loan of $1200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to buy new hairdressing supplies. She notes that this will increase her job productivity by 10%. In the future, she plans to open her own salon and hire people to work with her.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
