Hachem is a 21-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife. Regardless of his young age, Hachem is doing the best he can to earn money and have his own family and children. For this reason, he decided to have his own business, so he opened his own poultry shop in 2008. He’s a respectable person known for his good place and delicious food. Today, he’s asking to borrow $2100 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase an additional freezer for his shop, to be able to keep the food in good condition. In that way, he will gain people‘s trust and therefore attract more customers. In the future, he plans to open a snack shop just nearby his poultry business.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
