Hamideh is a 23-year-old Lebanese woman. She is engaged to be married. She lives with her sole parent and with three siblings, two of whom are working. She cooperates with her two siblings to cover the family's expenses.
Hamideh has been working as a tailor for the past seven years from her home. She’s well known as a reputable person and has gained a fair number of customers all over her village. Today, she’s looking to borrow $1600 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase additional tailoring supplies such as textiles and many others. This Kiva loan will boost her productivity, and thus her revenues. In the future, she plans to open her own evening-dress shop and expand her business outside the country.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
