Mrs. Hong S., 38, is married with four children and works as a teacher in Tmor Kor commune, part of Kampong Cham Province. As a teacher she earns on average $4 per day, which includes her salary and running a part time private class for the students on certain days of the week. To supplement the household income, her husband, Mr. Kert Sophea, 45, sells wood and charcoal, earning $11 of income. This couple hopes to borrow $1000 to purchase more wood and charcoal to resell in large amounts. The profit from this business will be used to support the family.
