Mrs. Cheng Y., 45, is a mother of five children and also owns a stand selling a variety of grocery products. She normally earns on average a profit of $1.5 a day. Her husband, Mr. Cham Chem, 47, is a wedding chef earning $2 a day of profit. All of their children live away from home. To generate an additional income this couple requests a loan from Kiva of $1000 to purchase a motor-bike to use as a motor-taxi and to buy more grocery products.
