The women of this committee are from the city of Caacupé. They are on their 9th loan cycle of the "mujeres emprendedoras" program and they have 18 members. All of them are hardworking women who are committed to their families. For them they are striving to the maximum, because they want to give their best to their family.

One of the women is Mrs. Rafaela, who is a fighter and sacrificed woman. She says that everyday she starts works very early distributing the milk she sells, since she wants her customers to have her product for the breakfast hour.

One of her goals is to become a great storekeeper, to generate greater earnings and continue helping her family.

She is requesting a loan to buy a lot of milk, so that she is well stocked and can meet the needs of her customers. She is grateful to the foundation and Kiva for the opportunity provided to her.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
