Hussein is a 29-year-old Lebanese engaged man. He’s living with his parents and three siblings, one of whom is working. His father is the main income provider in the family and is taking care of it. In 2009, Hussein opened his paint shop, where he sells all kinds of paints. In parallel, he has been installing air conditioners for the past three years and still does.
Today, he’s in need of a loan of $1,600 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase the needed quantity of paint for his shop. In that way, he will be capable to respond rapidly to his customers' demands and therefore get higher returns. In the future, he plans to sell paint to the neighboring shops.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
