Abdallah is a 44-year-old Lebanese married man who lives with his wife and two school-aged children. With the cooperation of his wife, he was able to cover their heavy costs of life in addition to his children’s study fees. His wife has been working in a local company since 2003. As for him, he opened his own bakery inn 2004 and already has 15 years of experience in this job. Today, he wants to borrow $600 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to install a new curtain glass for his bakery. He notes that this will improve his place, which will allow him to attract more clients. In the future, he plans to renovate and expand his bakery.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
